CommentSold + Shopify Integration

There has been a lot of (understandable) concern surrounding CommentSold’s Shopify integration announcement. We wanted to clarify a couple things about how this impacts Ave and our shops who use CS!

1. If you do not use CommentSold, the recent changes to Shopify’s third party app regulations will have zero impact on you! Starting in June, Shopify will no longer allow third party apps to generate orders in Shopify UNLESS the order originated within Shopify. Since Ave Tech creates orders that did originate in Shopify, we will be able to continue operating as we always have. Shopify’s explanation of the change is below:
   “Shopify has deprecated their Orders API and is no longer allowing third parties the ability to post orders back to Shopify when the order was placed outside of Shopify checkout.”
2. For our shops who do use CommentSold, we have been working with CS for months now on the details of a direct integration. This will allow CS to work directly with Ave Tech instead of requiring a Shopify “bridge” between the two platforms. (It will also have a positive impact on CS related oversells which will be amazing!) So the wheels for that are already in motion and will be completed prior to the Shopify deadline this summer!
