Friday Updates!

Shipping Times 📦

A lot of factors came together to make shipping extra hectic this week:
  • We had tons of delayed preorders that finally showed up on Friday and all dropped into the shipping queue at one time.
  • We also had an exceptionally busy sales weekend (beyond typical holiday volume) and some robot malfunction issues early in the week.
But thankfully we are making great progress on catching up:
  • There are currently 2700 orders in the queue and yesterday our team shipped 2300 orders!
  • So by the end of today we should be caught up completely through orders placed on the 7th (and likely a fair amount beyond that, but I’m being super conservative).
We also have an extra crew coming in over the weekend to help prevent a backlog on Monday.
We have done everything we can to increase our staff and infrastructure to support this busy time of year. But please understand there will be times throughout this month where our typical same/next day shipping times will be longer.
We understand that this affects TikTok shops in a different way and our team has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to support that, which brings us to the next point…

TikTok Shops Communication  %uD83C%uDF89

  • We know that TikTok is huge for many of our boutiques and we are committed to supporting you in that.
  • We also have hundreds of shops who are not selling on TT, and our community group has started to feel a bit overwhelmed with updates and information that truly only impacts a small percentage of our boutiques.
  • So going forward, will be setting up a separate communication channel that is for our TikTok shops only where we can send mass updates that are only applicable to TT. We hope that will feel better for everyone! 💛

Delayed Preorders ⏰

  • Whenever a vendor gives us an ETA on a preorder item, we tack on lots of extra time in the product listing just to be safe. Historically that approach has worked quite well and been pretty reliable!
  • Over the last few weeks we’ve had a huge number significantly delayed preorders. Things arriving 3-4 weeks after promised, partial shipments (so we think it’s on schedule but then a portion of sizes are missing), etc.
  • We are working on a process to be able to keep you better in the loop on these. Many weeks we have 50+ different preorder SKUs arriving and getting real time updates from vendors is not always easy.
  • In the meantime, you are always welcome to send a chat with questions about a specific preorder product or order number that you’re concerned about!

Publishing Products Before Release 👗

  • We’ve had some confusion this last week with shops releasing items prior to the launch date.
  • To keep things fair, Ave Tech automatically cancels any orders that come through early. But we know that’s a hassle for everyone involved!
  • To prevent this from happening, be sure to publish new releases each day by the date tag (11-8-2023, etc.). If you use tags like “gifts”, “accessories” or “dresses”, you will likely end up publishing items from future days that should not be released yet. Hope that helps clear up any confusion!
