Drop Shipping Basics

What is drop shipping?

Ave Shops has an entire warehouse FULL of amazing products. Our custom Shopify app allows you to sync these items directly to your own retail website.

When your customer places an order for one of our products, our team ships the order directly to them from our Utah warehouse with your name and return address on the shipping label! 

How much does it cost to work with Ave Shops each month?

$0! Our full service, turn key program is absolutely free!

What days do products launch each week?

Typically products launch on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. New preorders are also available each Wednesday!

Some weeks this schedule might be adjusted due to holidays or special promotions, but we will communicate these changes ahead of time.

Is there a sample buying period?

Yes! Samples release every Wednesday afternoon and can be purchased through the following Monday. 

(Example: If launches will be going live to retail customers the week of January 16-19, samples for those items will be available to our shops from Wednesday, January 3 - Monday, January 8.)

The sample buying window will be closed early if product sell through reaches 30% on any item (to ensure sufficient quantities are available for launch day).

Do products ship from the United States or overseas?

All products ship from the US! With the exception of preorders, all items are in stock in our Utah warehouse and are ready to ship out to customers right away.

Preorders have a turnaround time as stated on each product listing. The length of turnaround time varies depending on the vendor and item!

Can my website integrate with Ave Shops?

Our syncing app (Ave Tech) works with Shopify and CommentSold websites.

Can I use the photos and video content from Ave Shops?

Yes! We offer a huge variety of graphics, photos and video content including fit videos! You can access those items here.

Please be careful not to use our shared video content on TikTok! It is against their platform requirements and can cause major issues with your account.

When do I pay for products?

We have flexible automated payment options ranging from 0-72 hours after you've received an order.

No up front purchase is required! Once you've secured the sale of an item with your customer and have collected the retail payment from them, you pay us the wholesale cost of the item and keep the difference!

When can I delete synced products from my Shopify?

You can delete Ave products from your Shopify anytime *IF* all of your orders for that item have been fulfilled. If you delete a product listing while there is a pending order in Ave Tech, all pending orders for that item will be cancelled.

We see this happen most often with preorders because preorders stay pending in Ave Tech for the longest amount of time. Please do not delete preorder products (or any products!) until all of your orders have been fulfilled for that item. 

How does CommentSold work with Ave Tech?

Can Ave Shops help my brick and mortar boutique?

We love this question! YES many B&M stores use our service to go online without having to put their in person inventory on a website. You can advertise our launches as "online exclusive" styles!

You also can use our wholesale website to buy in bulk for your B&M store. Our quarterly sales are a great time to scoop up amazing pieces in bulk at low prices.

Can I add Ave Shops products to my TikTok shop?

Yes! We work with lots of boutiques who use TikTok. To ensure that your orders are processed within TikTok’s SLA timeframe, you’ll need to pay for your orders more quickly in Ave Tech and enable expedited processing. Our full TikTok policy can be found here.

What brands do you offer?

We work with lots of well known boutique brands like Judy Blue, Risen, Vervet, Andrée by Unit, Dear Scarlett, White Birch, Jodifl, Zenana, etc. We also have a number of our own private label brands (like One Eleven North and Cuddle Culture!) with items that are exclusive to Ave.

Will Ave Shops contact my customers?

Ave will never contact your customers for any reason! We are here to be a silent partner in your business.

Orders + Returns

How are items packaged?

We ship in plain boxes or polymailers with your boutique return address on the label and your packing slip inside. Packages appear to have come from YOU!

Each item is bagged individually inside the package. We do not include anything that would identify Avenue Shops in any way.

What will the return address say on the shipping label?

Ave Tech allows you to customize the shipping label with your address for any orders that are placed through our syncing app! 

If you place orders directly on our wholesale website, the return address will just say the generic name "Happy Shippers" with our Utah warehouse address.

What will the packing slips say in my customer's packages?

Ave Tech allows you to customize the packing slip for any orders that are placed through our syncing app! No wholesale pricing will be visible, and you can choose the message and return address that you want to display.

For orders placed directly on our wholesale website, the packing slip will only include a list of items in the package.

Can I make changes to an order?

Ave Tech has flexible options for order processing times. You can choose to have orders process and charge immediately or on a delayed schedule of 2-72 hours.

As long as an order is still pending in your Ave Tech back office, you can make unlimited changes to the order (add/delete items or cancel the order altogether) for the first 24 hours.

After 24 hours (or anytime after the order has been processed and charged in your back office), you are not able to make additional changes. Please reach out to our support team if there is an emergent issue with an order at this point.

Can I combine orders?

Ave Tech offers account setting options that will automatically combine any orders shipping to the same address (including local pickup orders!).

Once orders have been processed and charged in your back office, our shipping software does not allow us to combine or modify orders. 

If you need help with an order that has already been processed and charged, please reach out to our customer happiness team ASAP and we'll do our best to help. Our shipping team is speedy and it might not always be possible to intercept a package that has already started processing.

Does Ave Shops accept returns?

All sales are final on wholesale purchases except in the case of defects or damages. We must be notified of any defect or order issues within 14 days of package delivery.

Preorders

What are preorders?

Preorders are items that we do not have in stock in our Utah warehouse!
  • Each Wednesday we release a new group of preorder items.
  • They are available for you and your customers to order for one week!
  • After the preorder closes, we purchase the items from the vendor and have them shipped. Turnaround time varies depending on the item!

How can I tell which items are preorders?

  1. The word "PREORDER" is included in the product title.
  2. There is a section in the product description explaining the estimated delivery date.
  3. They are tagged with P plus the date! i.e. P2-7-2024

When do I pay for preorders?

Preorders go into a pending status in Ave Tech and no money is collected until we actually receive the products in the warehouse. After we receive the items, we'll process all pending orders and put them in the shipping queue!
  • If you'd prefer to pay up front, you can place orders directly on the wholesale website at avenueshops.com.

What if my customer orders a preorder and regular item in one order?

Orders through Ave Tech will be automatically split. The ready to ship item will go out right away and the rest will stay pending until the preorder item arrives.
 
Orders placed manually on the wholesale site will not go out until all items from the order have been received.

Shipping

How long does shipping take?

Fast shipping has always been super important to us! Typically all orders are shipped out within 1-3 business days after payment is received. During higher volume times or after holidays, etc. this window could be longer.

If you need to ensure that an order ships out ASAP (i.e. to meet a TikTok deadline), you can enable expedited processing for an additional fee.

How much does shipping cost?

Reasonable shipping rates are important to us! Currently we offer tiered flat rate shipping based on weight.

$4 for up to .25lbs
$5 for .25-.75lbs
$7 for .75-1lbs
$8.50 for Flatrate Jeans
$10 for 1-5lbs
$15 for 5-10lbs
$20 for 10lbs+

Starting March 1, we will begin charging actual shipping based on destination plus weight and package dimensions. We will also include a small fee to cover our packing materials.

Orders placed directly on the wholesale website (i.e. sample orders) will continue to have tiered flat rate shipping.

How much does Expedited Processing cost?

The expedited order processing feature is momentarily delayed due to other exciting technical priorities. It was previously announced to be in effect March 1, 2024 and we apologize for the delay. To ensure you're among the first to know when its available, consider becoming part of our Facebook community group, subscribing to our text alerts, and keeping an eye on your inbox for our announcements. 

Our Expedited Processing fees are tiered based on the volume of expedited packages we are shipping for you each month.

You can apply this fee to all orders or just specific ones that you select:

  • Your first 50 expedited orders each month: $2.50/package
  • Orders 51-250 each month: $1.50/package
  • Orders 251-999 each month: $1.25/package
  • Orders 1000 and higher each month: $1/package

Does Expedited Processing mean that my customers will get their order faster?

Expedited Processing refers to the length of time it takes our team to package and ship your order. If you enable this service, your order will get bumped to the front of the line in the warehouse.

Transit times vary depending on the shipping carrier that you select. Some carrier and speed preferences for transit can also be adjusted in your Ave Tech account.

I have a problem with my order!

We're so sorry to hear that! Please send a support chat or send an e-mail to hello@theavenueshops.com within seven days of package delivery for any order issues (including missing items or damages!).

You can find updates and announcements in a variety of places!
